Doe v. University of Miami

No. 18-21364 CA (Fla. 11th Cir. Ct. Jun. 10, 2019). The Firm represented a private university in a lawsuit brought by a former student, who alleged that she had been sexually assaulted in an on-campus dormitory. The student sought to hold the university liable under various negligence theories. The Firm argued that, based on applicable law and the student’s own allegations, she failed to state any claim against the university. Following extensive briefing and multiple hearings, the Court dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice.
