Garcia v. University of Miami
No. 1-12-cv-20009-UU (S.D. Fla. Dec. 20, 2012). The Firm successfully represented a private university in a lawsuit alleging gender discrimination under the Equal Pay Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Firm demonstrated to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida that the plaintiff’s claimed comparators were not similarly situated in all relevant respects based on their differing job responsibilities. The Court found that the plaintiff failed to establish a prima facie case and entered summary judgment in favor of the university on both claims.
